Hello My Name Is...
Mrs. Stephanie Walz
I graduated from Francis Marion in 1995 with a BS in Early Childhood. Since then I've taught in grades 4K through the 4th grade. I started off in Kindergarten and was moved up to the older grade levels whenever a "stronger teacher" was needed due to my test scores, but I prefer working with the younger children. My professors and previous principals in Florence School District One always teased me saying I could teach a rock to read and to do math! It is a skill that is God-given and it means a lot to me. My students thrive because I know how to build a nurturing, safe, loving, and productive learning environment. My heart is with my kids: past, present, and future. I love, love, love my kids and their families, and I feel as though they are my own children and treat them as if they are! I'm BLESSED to be your child's teacher and I am excited about this year!
I am married to the man of my dreams, Stephen Walz, who is a retired Navy Chief. We live together in Florence with my beautiful daughter, Elizabeth. She is a student at Francis Marion University. I love my family. They are my number one priority, coming second only to my relationship with GOD. I am a Christian and I love serving the Lord. I love reading and discussing the Bible;traveling all over the USA; learning new things; going canoeing, hiking, fishing, and camping. I love American history and going to historical places. One of my favorite hobbies is taking pictures, something my dad taught me to do as a little girl. I have high standards, values, and Biblical morals. My character is very important to me. I am more concerned with teaching the children in my class good character traits than I am anything else, but I feel like it all comes together because I put the important things first; I have my priorities in order. I hope that my heart shows in everything I do.
Parents are always welcome to our class so please stop by anytime to say hello! We'd love to see you!
